The 2022 DuraMAX Drydene 400 presented by RelaDyne is here with us and all roads lead to Dover, Delaware. The long-awaited race is set to get underway on Sunday 1st May 2022 at 3:00 p.m. ET at the traditional oval track, Dover Motor Superspeedway.
Ten races in this season are now under our belts being held on different tracks from road courses, long tracks, and short tracks to dirt tracks. The previous races can be considered as warm-up races and now we are heading to the real deal. Last weekend we saw a snippet of what a real race is in the final lap where drivers made a fashionable and historic finish
As we look forward to hitting the Dover Speedway track this weekend, Hendrick Motorsport has been recognized as one of the best teams with the fastest cars. Hendrick Motorsport took early wins pocketing four wins in ten races, Byron has collected two wins while Larson and Bowman secured one win each.
On the other hand, Chase Elliot is the only driver who hasn’t delivered any wins yet. However, despite being winless Elliot is leading the drivers’ standings which is a plus for the team.
2022 DuraMAX Drydene 400 Odds and Prediction
Oddsmakers for the DuraMAX Drydene 400 have come up with a different placing on the odd board. From this point of view, the odd masters’ predictions fell on the best team. Hendrick Motors drivers have been dominating in most of the races this season and oddsmakers have decided to head to Dover with Hendrick’s drivers as the top to win the races.
Kyle Larson made history last year clinching 10 wins in a single season and he will be hitting the track as the favorite to win the race with an odd of +450. Judging from what we have witnessed in a couple of races we can tell the spirit and hard work he has been putting in might be fruitful in Dover
This season Larson has encountered numerous wrecks and technical issues, recording DNFs. However, he has managed to bounce back and since then Kyle has only recorded one 19th finish in Martinsville.
In the other races that he’s competed until the last minute, his performance has not been going below the top five. With this record, Larson is surely the best driver to win this race.
His teammate William Byron who is one of the two drivers who have collected two wins this season will be behind Larson with an odd of +900. Chase Elliot will be standing behind Byron with the same odd of +900.
Alex Bowman, also a Hendrick driver will also be defending his 2021 win with an odd of +1000. Ross Chastain will be hunting for a chance to collect the third win and break the record of three wins going with an odd of +1200. Ross Chastain is not standing alone with this odd as other five drivers including Martin Truex Jr., Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, and Ryan Blaney are going with an odd of +1200.
Dover Motor Speedway
The 1-mile concrete oval track is one of the historic tracks, constructed in 1966. The inaugural race Mason-Dixon 300 was held in July 1969 where Richard Petty walked away with the win. Since the inaugural race in 1969 NASCAR hosted a single cup series race on the track. In 1971, NASCAR eliminated races that were not sanctioned by it and began hosting two cup series per year until 2020.
