Harry Kane, born in 1993 is an English professional football player currently playing for Tottenham Hotspur and England national team. In addition, he is the captain of the England national team. Career

Early Career

Having started his career at a tender age, Kane joined Ridgeway Rover, a local club after a while he joined Arsenal youth academy at the age of 8 years old. However, Arsenal released him after one season, claiming he was a “bit chubby” and not very “athletic” according to the then manager Liam Brady. On the other hand, Arsene Wenger who was also a coach stated that he was disappointed when the team decided to release him.

Kane was invited by Tottenham for a trial but he was not lucky at the first time. After that, he went back to his hometown club Ridgeway Rovers. He was then invited by Watford for a six-week trial. At the time he was being invited he was 11 years old. In a match against Watford and Tottenham, Kane caught the eyes of the Tottenham manager he was offered another chance.

When he joined Tottenham he was playing as a midfielder and later played as an attacking midfielder. Since he joined when he was young as he grew stronger he was promoted to play for under 16 during the 2008-09 season. The following season he was promoted and he played for the under 18 and he managed to score 18 goals at the end of the season. Kane signed a scholarship contract with Tottenham on his 16th birthday in 2009.

Promotion to Senior Team( On Loan)

After being promoted to the senior team in 2009, in July 2010 he signed his first professional contract with Tottenham. However, he was not featured in Tottenham’s game as he moved to Leyton Orient on 7th, January 2011 on a loan. Kane made his first debut for Orient on 15th January 2011, two weeks after his arrival. After one week he scored his first goal for the team in a 4-0 win over Sheffield. He played for the Orient’s until the end of the 2010-11 season where he completed the season with five goals in 18 appearances.

Kane made his first debut for Tottenham on On 25 August 2011. In addition, he scored his first goal for the club on 15th December 2011 in a 4-0 win against Shamrock Rovers. With Tottenham, he only made six appearances in the Europa League. After that, he agreed to move to Millwall alongside his teammate Ryan mason on 29th December 2011. His contract with Millwall was starting in January 2012 and it was supposed to end at the end of the season.

After his debut, he managed to score seven goals in the final 14 games of the season. In 27 appearances he had scored nine goals and as a result, he was named as Millwall’s Young Player of the Year for the 2011-12 season.

On 31st August 2012, he moved to Norwich City, after spending the preseason 2012-13 season with Tottenham. However, he moved to Norwich City on a season long-loan where he debuted as a substitute against  West Ham United. After Norwich, he joined Leicester City.

Tottenham Hotspur

Kane started playing for Tottenham in the 2013-14 season after he came back from Leicester City. On 7th April 2014, he was part of the team that started the game against Sunderland. In addition, still, in the same game, he scored his first Premier League goal.

During the 2014-15 season, he signed a new contract which was going for five years on 2nd February 2021. As a result of his good performance during the month of February, he was named the Premier League Player of the Month for February 2015. Being named player of the month he became the fourth player to win the award in consecutive months.

Still, in the 2015-16 season, he was also named Player of the Month for the third time in March 2016. This came after he scored five goals in four games. With six matches to complete the season, he was already the highest goalscorer in one Premier season. In addition, at the end of the season, he was named the winner for the Premier League Golden Boot. Moreover, he was named the PFA Team of the Year for the second consecutive season.

On December 1st, 2016, he signed a five-year new contract that was going to keep him until 2022. In February 2017 he was named the Player of the Month for the fourth time. Moreover, he was also named as the PFA Player’s Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year awards on 20th April 2017. At the of the 2016-2017 season, he finished as the Premer League top scorer with 29 goals. In addition, he also won the Golden Boot for the second time. On 23rd May 2021, he won the Premier League Playmaker of the Season award for most assists during the season. Moreover, he also won the Golden Boot for the third time.
