The 2023 Daytona 500 will take place on Sunday, where Busch Light Pole Qualifying is the first event of qualifying that will take place on Wednesday night. Each of the 42 racers on the track will complete one lap to win the starting spot for the race on Sunday. The fastest drive earns the pole position, and the second fastest drive earns the other front-row row slot. On Thursday, the Bluegreen Vacation Duel races will feature the remainder of the lineup.

On Tuesday afternoon NASCAR conducted a random selection to select the order in which the pack will exit the pit road for Wednesday qualifying. The final 20 spots in qualifying will be given to the drivers who placed in the top 20 in owners’ points during the previous season.
The two fastest qualifying teams will also secure their spots in the 2023 Daytona 500 on Wednesday night. the drivers who must qualify to compete in the race on Sunday include Jimmie Johnson, Travis Pastrana, Chandler Smith, Zane Smith, Austin Hill, and Conor Daly

Austin Cindric will complete the last lap, with Chandler Smith beginning the race. Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, and Chase Elliott are the four race favorites all at +1200. Chase Elliott sits in 24th place, followed by Ryan Blaney in 35th place, Kyle Larson in 31st place, and Denny Hamlin in 39th place.
