Kelsey Griffin is a famous American-Australian basketball star, drafted third overall in the 2010 WNBA Draft. Furthermore, she used to play college basketball with Nebraska Cornhuskers. Kelsey is currently playing for the University of Canberra Capitals in the Australian Women’s National Basketball League.
Childhood, Education, and Family
Kelsey was born in 1987, in Anchorage, Alaska, she is the daughter of Jim and Jan Griffin. She grew up with her sister Jayme, in a Community within the Municipality of Anchorage known as Eagle River. Kelsey joined a public school that is located in Chugiak, Anchorage, Alaska. After completing high school she enrolled at the University of Nebraska where she joined the Nebraska Cornhusker women’s basketball team. Kesley injured an ankle during the summer of 2008, where she missed practice for 14 weeks as well as missed the entire 2008-2009 season.
WNBA Career

Kelsey was selected as the third pick of the 2010 draft by the Minnesota Lynx, she was then traded to the Connecticut Sun for future draft picks. In her rookie season for Connecticut, Kelsey averaged 4.4 points and 4.7 rebounds and managed to earn a spot on the WNBA All-Rookie Team.
The WNBA forward used to play in Europe for Pecs 2010, a professional basketball team based in Pecs, Hungary. playing in the Hungarian league one of the premier leagues in EuroBasketball, where she led the team to a 23-1 record which earned an entry in the championship series.
Kelsey signed with the Bendigo Spirit for the 2012/13 Australian WNBL, due to commitments in the WNBA. At Bendigo, Kelsey averaged 16.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. In addition, she was instrumental in Bendigo’s WNBL championship victory, claiming the grand final MVP honor after scoring 20 points as well as 11 rebounds. Kelsey ended the season sixth overall in the Women’s National Basketball League, season league MVP voting.
