What Happened to N’golo Kante: Will He Extend His Contract With Chelsea?

N’Golo Kante has been categorized as a world-class midfielder not forgetting a humble one who responds to even bad energy with a smile. With all said and done, what happened to N’Golo Kante?

Well since the start of the 2022-23 season, Kante has made only two appearances and some of his fans must be wondering what happened to their favorite midfielder. The French native has been sidelined for the better part of the season due to an injury on his hamstring.

He tried to avoid surgery so that he couldn’t be ruled out of the French World Cup squad that reached to the finals but things never went on his side as the injury needed a knife. Since his surgery, the midfielder has been responding to treatment quite better and he might be back to the field by the end of the month or early March according to Graham Potter’s statement.

According to Metro.com, the 31-year-old midfielder has been training solo at Cobham and he might be ready to make a comeback at the end of the season. This season Chelsea has undergone a massive transition including signing over five players to improve their future squad.

N’Golo Kante Signing a New Deal With Chelsea

Kante’s contract with the Blues is set to expire this season which will make him a free agent. According to reports some of the biggest clubs have already started hunting for his services, Barcelona being on the frontline.

However, his close people seem to be getting somewhere with his current team. The talks of a new deal are still ongoing at the moment and so far no reports show if the deal is sealed or if he’ll have to vacate for a new home after the summer.

Kante had initially agreed verbally with the previous management and the agreement didn’t sit well with the current management thus showing a higher percentage of his departure. Kante is a valuable player, and he has established a clean field record and it will be hard for Chelse to let him go at this time when they are trying to restructure their squad.
