He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and grew up in a basketball family as his father played college basketball but never proceeded professionally. Following his athlete background, he ended up falling in love with Basketball at a tender age.
He later joined Minnehaha Academy, a Christian private school based in Minnesota. Before he joined high school his height had already given him a go-ahead to pursue basketball to the end.
As a freshman at Minnehaha Academy, the talented kid averaged 6.2 points and three rebounds per game. His first season with the Minnehaha Academy was a success at the Under Armour Association where he was named the most valuable player honors, becoming one of the highest ranked players in the 2021 class.
Following his success, he began attracting the attention of NCAA Division I. In his senior year, he averaged 21 points and 12.3 rebounds and went ahead to win the Class 3A state title, marking his fourth state championship at Minnehaha.
Before completing his high school career, the promising prospect secured numerous accolades including, Morgan Wootten National Player of the Year, a McDonald’s All-American, and Minnesota Mr. Basketball. Gatorade National Player of the Year, Naismith Prep Player of the Year.
Before making his junior season debut, he had attracted around 30 institutes ready to hand him the scholarship after he was ranked as the No.1 player by ESPN. Eventually, he ended up committing to play for Gonzaga.
Joining college meant tougher ground and extra efforts were needed. As usual, working hard is one of his key pillars. As a freshman, he was named West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.
In April 2022, he decided to forgo his college career and try his luck at the 2022 NBA draft.
