Tyrell Malacia Bio
Malacia was born in Rotterdam, Netherland, and began his football journey at the age of nine when he joined Feyenoord youth academy in 2008. His career was nurtured and shaped by the academy and seven years later he was ready to debut his professional career.
In December 2015, he signed his first professional contract with the Feyenoord. However, despite signing a contract in 2015, he made his first professional debut in December 2017.
Unlike many players, during his debut, he was given full 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over Napoli in the UEFA Champions League. A few days after making his professional debut he went on and made his Eredivisie debut. For the past five years after making his professional debut he has been a key pillar of the Dutch team.
He helped the club win the KNVB Cup in 2018, he was also named in the UEFA Europa Conference League Team of The Season in 2022. On 5th July he penned down a four-year contract with Manchester United, the contract also has an option of a further year. The transfer fee amounted to €15 million (£13 million), with an extra €2 million (£1.7 million) in add-ons.
With the arrival of Erik ten Hag, Malacia is the first player to be signed under him.
Internationally, he plays for the Netherlands where he has represented the county at different levels before making his debut for the senior team in 2021. He was among the squad that represented the Netherlands in the 2022 World Cup qualifications.
